SQL-Ledger is a double entry accounting system, written in Perl. Accounting data is stored in a PostgreSQL Server, for the display any text or GUI browser can be used.

The RCurl package is an R-interface to the libcurl library that provides HTTP facilities. This allows us to download files from Web servers, post forms, use HTTPS (the secure HTTP), use persistent connections, upload files, use binary content, handle redirects, password authentication, etc.

cmdftp is a command line FTP client for Unix systems that features include passive mode for all data transfers, shell like transparent syntax for local and remote modes, multiple and recursive file transfers using wildcards, recursive copy and move commands, remote and local text file viewing and editing, network errors detection and resuming of currently executing command, partial download resuming (if server accepts REST command), tab completion for both local and remote names, autologin using classic ~/.netrc approach, large file support, and more.

This is frox, a transparent ftp proxy by James Hollingshead. Current features include: o rfc959 compliant transparent proxying of ftp connections. o active --> passive mode conversion for data connections. o Optional caching support either locally or through an external HTTP cache. o Optional virus scanning o Optional non-transparent proxy support by logging in with user@host:port. o Options to bind to a specific interface, chroot, and drop priveleges for security.

ftpsync.pl synchronizes a local directory tree and a remote FTP directory tree. It was initally written to automize web publishing, but might be useful for some other purposes, like mirroring not-too-large public sites, data replication, and more.

Jftpgw is an FTP proxy/gateway that uses the FTP protocol (unlike those FTP proxies that fetch an FTP file but work as an http proxy). You can use it to make servers behind a firewall/NAT server (masquerading server) accessible or to allow users behind such solutions to transfer files to and from the outside of the LAN. Jftpgw is highly configurable and can be run as a stand-alone daemon or under control of inetd. A wide range of options can be spedified per client, server or user. Other features are: support for a transparent proxy mode, forwarding, file caching, detailed logging, port ranges and session limits.

NcFTP is a free set of programs that use the File Transfer Protocol. The main program is simply called "ncftp". There are also separate utility programs for one-shot FTP operations (i.e. for shell scripts and command line junkies); these include "ncftpget", "ncftpput", and "ncftpls". Also included is a batch processing daemon, "ncftpbatch", which is invoked by the "bgget" command from "ncftp" and also the "-b" flag of "ncftpput" and "ncftpget". Lastly, the "ncftpbookmarks" program is a full-screen utility program to manipulate user's FTP bookmarks.
