xmmsctrl is a small utility to control XMMS from the command line. Its
goal is to be used coupled with sh to test XMMS state and perform an
appropriate action, e.g. if playing then pause else play. The interest
of this is to bind keys in a window manager to have control over XMMS
with keys that do play/next/pause, prev, control sound...
The Extended Module Player, or xmp, is a portable command-line module player
supports over 80 mainstream and obscure module formats from Amiga, Atari,
Acorn, Apple IIgs and PC.
xoscope is a digital oscilloscope using input from a sound card or EsounD
and/or a ProbeScope/osziFOX and will soon support Bitscope hardware.

The xsynth-dssi package contains the Xsynth-DSSI plugin, a
classic-analog (VCOs-VCF-VCA) style software synthesizer with an
editor GUI. Xsynth-DSSI was written by Sean Bolton, and was based
on Steve Brooke's Xsynth code, but has since acquired polyphonic
operation, band-limited oscillators, a better filter mode, and
velocity-sensitive envelopes.
Yell is a little command line utility playing a short tune on your speaker
device. I mainly use it to yell the "sysop" on a remote machine. It could also
be used as a notification for finished tasks (eg. make buildworld && yell).

The volume normalizer plugin is intended to change the volume of
playing songs to some level such that they all will basically sound
pretty much the same in terms of volume.
XymMS is an XMMS input plugin capable of playing Sega Genesis GYM files by
rendering FM, DAC, and PSG signals through emulation of the YM2612 and SN76496
sound chips found in the video game console. It supports zlib compression and
decompression, and other various settings for output quality, etc. You can
compress and decompress files along with updating ID tags using the File Info
window.
Music Player Minion is a client for the Music Player Daemon network
music player. The purpose of MPD and it's clients is to allow music
playback on one PC (such as a home media server) to be controlled
from another over the network.
GUPnP-AV is a collection of helpers for building AV (audio/video) applications
using GUPnP.
