An alternative to nss_ldap using an ldap based NIS/YP server. This is a UNIX daemon providing NIS services with a modular backend interface. The current focus is the development of an LDAP module for the backend data source. This daemon was (and is being written) in order to migrate a large install base of UNIX systems utilizing NIS to an LDAP based solution, eventually facilitating a migration of all corporate services that rely on similar data to LDAP. This (and future) LDAP related tools are being released under the BSD License (with advertising clause).

TinTin++ is a console MUD client for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Its main assets are an easy to learn and use scripting language, full telnet support, a split screen interface to separate mud output from client input, and keyboard macros that work on all systems.

tn5250 is an implementation of the 5250 Telnet protocol. It provides 5250 library and 5250 terminal emulation. (usually used to connect to IBM AS/400 Midrange systems)

UDP-based Data Transfer The UDT software is a C++ library containing the UDT API implementation and programming examples.

UNFS3 is a user-space implementation of the NFSv3 server specification. It provides a daemon for the MOUNT and NFS protocols, which are used by NFS clients for accessing files on the server. Since it runs in user-space, you can use it in a jail.

uriparser is an RFC 3986 URI parsing library written in C++.

userfw is extensible packet filter for FreeBSD. Now it's mostly experimental.

vnStat is a console-based network traffic monitor. It keeps a log of hourly, daily and monthly network traffic for the selected interface(s). However, it isn't a packet sniffer. The traffic information is analyzed from the proc(5) filesystem. That way vnStat can be used even without root permissions.
