The ntfs-3g driver is an open source, freely available read/write NTFS
driver, which provides safe and fast handling of the Windows XP, Windows
Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7
and Windows 8 NTFS file systems. Almost the full POSIX filesystem
functionality is supported, the major exceptions are changing the file
ownerships and the access rights.
FVCool is the FreeBSD version of the famous VCool software
(http://vcool.occludo.net) which changes the PCI configuration data
of some chipsets and thus allows AMD Athlon/Duron CPUs to go into
power-save mode. This makes the CPU consume a lot less electric
energy, and it produces a lot less heat as well. This trick is not
a secret - on FreeBSD, you can actually achieve the same effect
which this software has using the "pciconf" command.
Please note that this software may have a negative impact on the
system's stability and thus should not be employed in production
or mission-critical environments.
geteltorito is a small Perl script which will extract
(and display information about) an El Torito boot image
from a real CD or a CD image. This helps you modify the boot
image when you want to burn a modified version of the CD in question.
HFS is the "Hierarchical File System" used on modern Macintosh computers.
With this package, you can read and write Macintosh-formatted media such as
floppy disks, CD-ROMs, and SCSI hard disks on most Unix platforms. You can
also format raw media or file into an HFS volume.
This package contains a number of different tools:
- Several command-line programs (hmount, hls, hcopy, et al.)
- Tk-based front-end for browsing and copying files through a
variety of transfer modes (MacBinary, BinHex, text, etc.)
- Tcl package and interface for scriptable access to volumes
- C library for low-level access to volumes
Support for Apple's new Extended Format (HFS+) is currently not available.
The i2c-tools package contains a heterogeneous set of I2C tools for
Linux: a bus probing tool, a chip dumper, register-level SMBus access
helpers, EEPROM decoding scripts, EEPROM programming tools, and a python
module for SMBus access.
Only DIMM SPD decoding tool is ported at the moment.
The author has not found any simple programs that listen on a device and
run commands based on the values received.
keyboard-daemon binds to a device (for example, a remote control) and
listens for button presses. These are then mapped to programs that are
executed.
This port provides an utility for controlling most of the LSI Logic's
MegaRAID BIOS functions.
mkfile(8) creates one or more files that are suitable for use as
NFS-mounted swap areas, or as local swap areas. The file is padded
with zeros by default.
Battery Monitor is a battery monitor for laptops. It displays the current
status of the battery (charge/discharge and energy level) as well as some
information about the general health of the cell.

mono-kmod is a FreeBSD kernel module enables you to execute ECMA and
.NET applications without preceding the native code generator in the
command line. That means you can call a binary with "./hello.exe"
instead of "mono hello.exe".
