DSPAM (as in De-Spam) is an open-source project to create a new kind
of anti-spam mechanism, and is currently effective as both a
server-side agent for UNIX email servers and a developer's library
for mail clients, other anti-spam tools, and similar projects
requiring drop-in spam filtering.
Asmail is a "mail-checker" like xbiff, but with the Afterstep
look & feel. It indicates the status of your mailbox.
It can be put in the Wharf, execute a program on incoming mail,
execute a program upon mouseclick, show animations and more...
The hashcash tool allows you to create hashcash tokens to attach to
emails you send, and to verify hashcash tokens attached to emails you
receive. A hashcash token constitutes a proof-of-work which takes a
parameterizable amount of work to compute for the sender.
This is a complete standalone C implementation of the SRS (Sender
Rewriting Scheme) and includes a command line utility and daemon,
test utility and static and dynamic libraries. SRS is a stop-gap
for users of SPF (Sender Policy Framework).
See https://github.com/Exim/exim/wiki/SRS for integration with exim.
Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component with the
goal of becoming a cross-platform stand alone mail application using the
XUL user interface language. See the Mozilla Thunderbird project page
for more details.
This is a pre-compiled Linux/i386 version.
mini_sendmail reads its standard input up to an end-of-file and sends
a copy of the message found there to all of the addresses listed. The message
is sent by connecting to a local SMTP server. This means mini_sendmail
can be used to send email from inside a chroot(2) area.
Net::SMTP::TLS::ButMaintained is forked from Net::SMTP::TLS.
Net::SMTP::TLS::ButMaintained is a TLS and AUTH capable SMTP client which
offers an interface that users will find familiar from Net::SMTP.
Net::SMTP::TLS::ButMaintained implements a subset of the methods provided
by that module, but certainly not (yet) a complete mirror image of that API.

Exim is a mail transfer agent for Unix systems connected to the Internet.
It is a monolithic MTA designed to be a command line compatible drop-in
replacement for Sendmail.
Exim is an excellent mailer for an ISP, as its control and flexibility
are very good and its requeueing and retry algorithms are very powerful.
Exim's configuration syntax is well documented.
relaydb is a mail header analyzer that builds a database of IP addresses either
known as legitimate senders or spammers.
relaydb doesn't itself classify mails as legitimate or spam, that decision needs
to be reached through other means. Neither does relaydb block spam itself. It
merely provides a list of IP addresses to block through other means.
