DNS Balance is a load-balancing DNS server which:
o Does dynamic load balancing.
o Can answer the most proper resolution based on the client's IP
address.
o Implements "A" record lookups only. This would be good for
security.
This (FreeBSD) version differs from original in the following:
- It works as a daemon
- Has ability to write messages to logfile
- Can save it's PID
"Another Easy Editor"
An easy to use text editor intended to be usable with little or no
instruction. Provides a full-screen text interface via curses (aee)
as well as a graphical user interface under X windows (xae).
Features include pop-up menus, cut-and-paste, journaling, and
multiple edit buffers.
aee is a superset of the "Easy Editor" (ee) that is part of the
FreeBSD base system.
CBB is a personal check book balancing utility for Unix/X.
CBB is intended to be an open, extensible program. It utilizes a
simple (tab delimited) data file format and is written entirely in
Tcl/Tk and Perl and contains no compiled code. It provides a simple
interface for users to add their own reports, graphs, and external
modules without having to modify any of the CBB source.
This is a port of Atomic Tanks, a 2D tank game where small tanks use
cartoonishly large weapons to blow up each other. Atomic Tanks is loosely
based on the classic DOS game, Scorched Earth. The game is very
flexible, allowing anywhere from two to ten players, variable environments
and a wide range of weapons and other items.
To work, this game requires that the Allegro graphics library be installed.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a remake of sorts of the id's early, seminal
first-person shooter, Wolfenstein 3D. However, with the advances in graphics
technology and gameplay design since the original game, without the name and
the occasional in-game references, it would be unrecognizable as a remake.
Unlike the original Wolfenstein 3D, only a handful of the single player
missions in Return to Castle Wolfenstein takes place in the infamous castle
and prison.
The game quantum minigolf is nearly the same as the game minigolf
- except that the ball obeys the laws of quantum mechanics.
Such a ball can be at several places at once. It can diffract around
obstacles and interfere with itself. Apart from that, the rules are
the same: You can play on various tracks involving various obstacles.
You hit the ball with a club and try to kick it into a hole on the
other side of the track.
This is a port of the classic computer game "Sopwith" to run on
modern computers and operating systems. It is named "SDL Sopwith"
as it was originally used the LibSDL graphics library. There is now
also a port to Gtk+, the widget library used by GNOME and there is
initial code written toward a backport allowing it to be run under
DOS, like the original.
UFO ALIEN INVASION is a strategy game featuring tactical combat against hostile
alien forces which are about to infiltrate earth at this very moment. You are
in command of a small special unit which has been founded to face the alien
strike force. To be successful on the long run, you will also have to have a
research team study the aliens and their technologies in order to learn as much
as possible about their technology, their goals and the aliens themselves.
Xdemineur is a minesweeper game for the X Window System.
The object of this game is to find the location of the mines
hidden in the minefield and to mark their location by placing a
warning flag. You have exactly as many flags as there are mines.
The number of flags that remain to be placed is displayed in the
top left corner of the window and a timer is displayed in the top
right corner.
Gimmage is a simple image viewer that aims to have a minimalist
interface and tries to be keyboard operable for browsing through a
large number of images quickly. It is appropriate for command line
usage as it accepts directories and image filenames as arguments. It
has an in-application file browser that allows users to select and
drag images and directories into the image viewing area in order to
have them displayed.
