This is a XMMS input plugin for playing .nsf and .hes audio files.
It supports all internal sound channels and the extra sound channels found in
the Konami VRC6, Konami VRC7, Namco 106, Nintendo MMC5, and Sunsoft FME-07
chips.
The extra sound channel present in the Famicom Disk System is also emulated.
Grip is a front-end to external cd audio rippers (such as dagrab or
cdda2wav). It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 encoders, letting
you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. The CDDB
protocol is supported for retrieving track information from disc database
servers. Grip works with DigitalDJ to provide a unified "computerized"
version of your music collection.
Secret Rabbit Code (aka libsamplerate) is a Sample Rate Converter for
audio.
SRC is capable of arbitrary and time varying conversions ; from
downsampling by a factor of 12 to upsampling by the same factor.
Arbitrary in this case means that the ratio of input and output sample
rates can be an irrational number. The conversion ratio can also vary
with time for speeding up and slowing down effects.
mp3lint is a tool to check collections of audio files for various problems. It
is highly configurable, allowing you to specify your preferred format for
filenames, minimum bitrate, tests to ignore, etc.
Formats checked are currently mp3, ogg, wav, flac, au, and m3u playlists.
mp3lint is implemented as separate tools (perl modules), each of which
implements a set of tests. There are a total of 32 different tests.
gsm is a conversion package and library for converting u-law audio to
gsm encoding (which is much more efficient) and back again.
libnjb is a C library and API for communicating with the Creative Nomad
JukeBox and Dell DJ digital audio players under BSD, Linux, Mac OS X and
Windows.
WavPack is a completely open audio compression format providing lossless,
high-quality lossy, and a unique hybrid compression mode. Although the
technology is loosely based on previous versions of WavPack, the new version
4 format has been designed from the ground up to offer unparalleled
performance and functionality.
In the default lossless mode WavPack acts just like a WinZip compressor for
audio files. However, unlike MP3 or WMA encoding which can affect the sound
quality, not a single bit of the original information is lost, so there's no
chance of degradation. This makes lossless mode ideal for archiving audio
material or any other situation where quality is paramount. The compression
ratio depends on the source material, but generally is between 30% and 70%
(generally lower for typical popular music and somewhat better for classical
music and other sources with greater dynamic range).
The hybrid mode provides all the advantages of lossless compression with an
additional bonus. Instead of creating a single file, this mode creates both
a relatively small, high-quality lossy file that can be used all by itself,
and a "correction" file that (when combined with the lossy file) provides
full lossless restoration. For some users this means never having to choose
between lossless and lossy compression!
The mpg123.el Emacs-Lisp program is a front-end to mpg123/ogg123 audio player.
You can select and play an mp3 file from the list in your Emacs's buffer with
familiar interface.
Because mpg123.el is an Emacs-Lisp program and is written carefully to
preserve portability, it must run on almost all variant of Emacs, especially
recent one. Here is the list of environment where mpg123.el is reported to be
available. If you find mpg123 running on other platforms than below, please
tell me your environment.
WMRecord is a general purpose audio recording utility that is designed to
work in conjunction with WindowMaker's Dock or AfterStep's Wharf.
It was originally conceived as a tool for recording memos, interviews
and meetings, and this approach is reflected somewhat in the interface.
Recordings are made to one of 99 numbered slots or tracks which the user
may browse through. There is no limit (other than the constraints of the
file system) to the size of the recordings you make. Recordings are
automatically saved to disk, but may be erased or recorded over as
necessary.
xwave - an audio player, recorder, editor for the XWindow System
Note from the original author:
The user interface of xwave is based on Athena and FWF widgets.
The application defaults are optimized for Xaw3d, so if you don't
use Xaw3d you may want to modify the resources.
Features:
- multiple files
- overview window
- zoom window
- mark, cut, copy, paste, merge
- echo, reverse, swap, resample, volume (absolute, dynamic
compressor)
- stop recording on demand
- raw, wav, au, aiff, aifc (PCM, ALAW, ULAW, and some ADPCM
implementations)
- files of any length
